Jargon cracker
The terminology used in connection with the EU and Structural Funds is a new thing for most of us. In the Romanian mass-media, “Brussels’ language” was named “europenita” – a language that is not accessible to all of us. Words like “eligibility criteria”, “priority axes”, “terms of reference”, “co-financing”, “financing memorandum”, “intermediary bodies” are just a few examples of terms that are not commonly used by the people. Their meaning, therefore, might not be understood. Worse, still, they might put people off from attempting to write proposals and apply for funds.
Not only words could prove difficult to understand, but concepts, too, such as the “n+2” or “n+3” rules, or the “the convergence objective”.
The Jargon cracker section aims to explain these terms to you. In this way, the terminology will not deter you from wanting to know more about the ROP funds.
